A Story That Began With the Land​
At the heart of this story is the Lombardo family and their connection to farming and land stewardship in Dixon. Their history is rooted in agriculture, shaped by practical decisions about water, crops and long-term land use.

One of the family’s early matriarchs, Rina Gallino, carried this tradition forward after immigrating from Italy in the early 1900s. She brought with her a deep understanding of land, growing fruit trees, crops and gardens wherever she lived, values that continue to influence how the land is understood today.

The Lombardo Ranch property has long been part of Dixon’s planning framework, including its inclusion within the City’s Sphere of Influence since 1993. Over time, infrastructure investments, planning agreements and adjacent development have shaped how the area functions today.
